Women's History Month brought to you by Agnes Intelligence

To celebrate Women's History Month, Agnes Intelligence interviewed the incredible women on our team that keep things rolling. First up is Amy Snyder, our COO and logistics master:

1. Hi Amy! Tell us about yourself.

I am a Contemporary Art Advisor -- which means that I help people buy art for their homes and oversee all the things that have to happen when you own art (framing, installing, conserving, shipping, storing, insuring, etc.). So, in terms of skills I bring to the Agnes Intelligence team: I have run my own business since 2013, and I have a background both in sales and logistics.

2. How did you get involved with Agnes Intelligence?

My husband, John, is the co-founder. This is a family business! And, it's named after our soon-to-be-born daughter.

3. What is one new thing you've learned since working at Agnes Intelligence?

Unlike tech, the art world is heavily populated by women. Working with so many men is a new experience for me. I don't think you can generalize what this means in terms of work and leadership styles, but there is a difference. As an employer, I think this means there's an argument to be made for gender diversity in the workplace to expand the points of view and approaches to problem solving for your business.

4. Who is one woman who has had a huge effect on your life?

I worked for another art advisor for five years before going out on my own. In addition to learning the nuts and bolts of the business, I learned so much from her that could be applied to any role I might fill professionally. She believed in 100% transparency with her clients and always defaulted to honesty and fair practices in deal making.
